About Lure Coursing

Lure coursing is a sport where dogs chase an artificial lure, usually a white plastic bag, that is moved by a machine or a pulley over a course. It is based on the natural prey drive and hunting instinct of dogs that hunt by sight. In competition, dogs are scored or judged on their speed, agility, follow, and endurance in competitive trials, or they can participate for fun and exercise in recreational clubs. Lure coursing is not limited to sighthounds, but open to any breed of dog that enjoys the chase.
